When I’m an adult and have kids I will make/buy this and then ask my kids if they want some:

So over the years I’ve made a lot of connections in various fields and I’ve been able to try and help my friends find positions and opportunities. But I never made many connections within my own field :/
One of my previous supervisors from my office assistant job at VT has an uncle who works at Honeywell. I interviewed with Honeywell during the expo but I wasn’t offered a position. My former supervisor had mentioned her uncle to me when I was a freshman and starting this job and at the beginning of this semester she told me to send her my resume and she’d get in contact with her uncle. She’s since left VT but today I got an e-mail from her asking me for my resume and that her uncle was going to attempt to get me a summer position (but no promises).
I’m excited that I might have a chance to get the position but I’m more happy that I made a connection that could actually help me in my field, and who most importantly hasn’t forgotten about me.
